Although we have already had a star party at the Branched Oak Observing site, there is a lot of work to do to make it a useful observatory for astronomical education purposes.
On this page, we will record the development of the site as we go along:
(5/16/15) Billboard sign placed on the corner.
Mixing cement for a binocular mount.
(5/5/15) Added new signage and picnic tables, removed brush, leveled the ground a bit, and roped off area for parking.
(4/23/15) Moving the 14′ dome, the first large donation to the observatory.
(4/15/15) Laying down gravel to the entrance.
Using a tractor to smooth out the parking area.
Today (3/26/15), two loads of tree branches were removed to make the entryway more inviting.
